In 2009, P.K. Scheerle, RN, joined Gifted Nurses / Gifted Healthcare, a privately held, highly successful company of nurses, staffing and leading critical care areas of hospitals. Rejoining her previously successful management team at Gifted Healthcare, PK served as CEO/ Chairman of the Board until 2021. Under her leadership, Gifted Healthcare, through organic growth and acquisitions. She stepped down after leading the company to $400 million in gross revenue in 2021. Gifted Healthcare’s broad reach provides critical care nurse staffing, disease management, vendor management systems, local nurse staffing, school nurse staffing, travel staffing, case management, nurse navigators, and infusion services.
The onset of PK’s leadership career was in 1982 when she founded American Nursing Services. Under her direction, the company grew from five employees to over 2,500 employees with locations in nine states providing clinical staffing, disease management, vendor management systems, home care, and therapists.
As an experienced CEO, PK has repeatedly created winning teams adding value and innovation as a serial healthcare entrepreneur.
Ms. Scheerle, a Registered Nurse with a clinical background in pediatric intensive care, is a self- made entrepreneur who saw a need in healthcare to keep experienced and talented clinicians at the bedside. By utilizing her remarkable vision and tremendous determination, she has repeatedly created exciting and scalable healthcare companies and services.
Ms. Scheerle graduated from the Executive Program of Harvard Business School in 1991 after graduating from nursing school in 1980 as president of her class. Ms. Scheerle has and continues to serve on numerous for profit and not-for-profit boards. She has also received many awards for contributions to the community and the nursing profession. A few of those awards include Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Southeast Chapter of the American Red Cross, Induction into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame, Boggs- Bourque Woman of Distinction Award and New Orleans CityBusiness Women of the Year Award for three consecutive years. She also served as Chairman of the Young Presidents Organization for Louisiana and served on their Southern Regional Board. In addition, Ms. Scheerle founded a growing national program, the Great 100 Nurses Celebration.
In addition, Ms. Scheerle continues to be in demand as a private equity consultant and has given hundreds of speeches across America. She is regularly sought after and relied upon for her experience and expertise by successful boards, investors, and CEOs.
P.K. and Bruce Bolyard have three daughters and a son.
